It's been a long while since I've been very active on here. I've been spending time going through messages and deviations over the past week or so and getting back on touch with some of you too.
It's so strange when you lose someone you love. I've been there before but I was much younger and less aware of my own feelings. I didn't have the relationships with the people that died when I was in my young 20's and earlier like I do now, as an adult.
Now, I didn't "just" lost my aunt, or my moms sister etc. but I also lost a friend. A very dear friend. When that happens you lose a little bit of yourself.
It's still very surreal and only late at night does the reality of it hit me. When it's quiet and dark and I'm truly alone with my thoughts.
We had an amazing Celebration of Life for my aunt. You know sometimes when you're at a funeral and the officiant says, " Would anyone like to share a memory?". All you hear is crickets and uncomfortable shifting around. I hate that. It's so awkward and kind of sad.
It wasn't like that at all for my aunt. People were popping up one right after another and we were laughing and crying...it was intense, emotional, relieving and beautiful.
I'm not going to name names, but I need to say
THANK YOU to those people that helped my cousin and his family by donating and sharing the story in their journal. You people are so precious to me, you don't even know how much it helped. You gave some peace of mind to a family that was truly at the end of their rope and emotionally broken.
So, one more time, Thank you.

Don't forget...
It's not over yet..
I always look forward to your new deviations. Your most recent ones are fabulous.
I have to admit that I'm glad to see winter coming because I just love your winter shots, you always show what a world class beauty Minnewsota is.
