No because my friend does that and she has a nice group of watchers who respect her and she's assertive with how she feels about the way some people treat others on here. So, when someone comes and see her work, and they don't know her, they see that it's ok to leave a CONSTRUCTIVE comment...just not a pointless...or rude, "I don't like this", type of comment, which happens a lot around here. It's just annoying and can be hurtful.

Yep, next time you upload something here...when you scroll down you can pick "Advanced Critique Desired", "Leave a Comment", " No Critique Desired", or just make it so no one can leave comments at all. It's a nice little system.

I remember before there was the advanced critique option on the settings for a submitted deviation. That was some time ago. A lot of people don't seem to notice a regular option....
I think a lot of people feel bigger behind a computer monitor. They feel safe, so they're more compelled to act out like humans are naturally prone to...

People are just odd I guess.

Unfortunately, it's just the nature of some individuals. It's easier to try and pull someone down to their level, rather than excel and bring their work up to a higher level. Regardless, seldom can we change someone's behavior, but we also don't have to accept their opinion as superior to our own

I figure the most important thing to me is that my work pleases me and it's very nice if it also finds favor with someone else but the nice thing about any artistic endeavor is that it's about sharing our view of the world and what's artistic to us.

Some will get it, some don't and some never well.

well, if anyone comments badly about my stuff, I'll just hide it, no one needs to know what negativity that person said/ wrote.

If I don't like something, I don't say anything, I don't write anything. Comments should only be in a Constructive and a look-for-the-positive manner. Uplift, don't tear down. People DO need to know how they can improve, but ripping on them iz not going to help.
