It's not that I'm not interested or I'm busy or I don't know what an inauguration is or that I'll be living my life in front of the TV set in over-zealous anticipation of the event, it's just that I look at it like any other inauguration. Sure, it's historic for a lot of reasons I just don't think things are going to change anytime soon. Don't care who the new president is--it's going to take a lot of time. I may check it out a bit, but I won't see the whole thing.
I'll be rooting for Barack though and hoping he can live up to the hype.
I understand where you're coming from. I get a little excited though about the historic implications of Obama's presidency. I'm also somewhat optimistic about the changes that may come with him in office. I think, in some ways we've learned to settle for less because we haven't had anyone different, with different idea's to turn too. Anyway...you're right, I should have put "other" in there too... Thanks for your thoughts John!

I voted 'I want to, but...', although I'd've wished for another option. Most likely, as I don't live in the states, our TV channels will broadcast some sort of coverage of the event, but rather shortened. To be honest, that's all I wanna see, I'm not really keen on watching the whole event. For me the most important thing about it is the new course in politics which was promised by Obama.
oh, and sth else: I think the term 'Inauguration' is rather specific vocabulary, probably the people who voted "What is an inauguration?" simply didn't know the term...
